R&D project financing


AGRESTA S. COOP. has received a grant in the framework of the “Programa Investigo”, for the recruitment of young job seekers to carry out research and innovation initiatives, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, in the Community of Castilla y León, for the period 2022-2023″.
Thanks to this grant, a person with a degree in Forestry and Natural Environment Engineering has been hired to work in Agresta’s offices in Soria (GC 1). The amount of this grant is 33,108.92 € to cover all the costs of her work contract for one year.

The tasks of this person will be focused on research and development of methodologies for climate change adaptation and mitigation with nature-based solutions, the main themes being:

  • Characterisation and modelling of carbon pools in terrestrial ecosystems (aboveground biomass and soil) related to the LULUCF sector.
  • Quantification and monitoring of GHGs (emissions and removals) under different certification standards in the forestry sector.
  • Integrated forest management for climate change mitigation and adaptation.


AGRESTA S. COOP. has received a grant within the framework of the call: Grants from the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (resolution of the President of the Institute for Business Competitiveness of May 3, 2018, BOCYL No. 98, May 23, 2018) for the development of the project AGRESTA FOREST CARBON OFFSET-Platform for the digital sale of GHG Emission Offsetting Forest Units. The project was financed for an amount of 98,100.80 € and corresponds to 29% of the expenditure subsidized by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and the Junta de Castilla y León, through the Instituto para la Competitividad Empresarial de Castilla y León (ICE), with the aim of promoting research, technological development and innovation.

The overall objective of the project has been the development and marketing of a digital product for offsetting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that responds to the key needs of two types of currently unconnected actors: forest owners-promoters of reforestation projects seeking funding to carry them out, and companies and citizens looking for tangible and guaranteed projects in which to invest to offset their carbon emissions.


An incentive of 25,095.86 € has been received from the Innovation and Development Agency of Andalusia IDEA, of the Regional Government of Andalusia, 80% co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the project “Monitoring of forest reforestation using drones (DRONSOMETER)” with the objective of “Promoting technological development, innovation and quality research”.

AGRESTA S. COOP. has received a grant in the framework of the call: Subsidies for high-tech and knowledge-intensive companies in priority areas of the RIS3, for the year 2019, for the development of digital tool for forest inventory calculation and the purchase of technological equipment for forest inventory. Project co-financed by the Government of the Canary Islands and 85% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
